Removing or Adding someone to your mortgage
General Guidelines to add or remove a party from a mortgage.
You will need to organise the following when Adding a party to a Mortgage Loan:
- Both parties must complete a 'Transfer of Equity' Form.
- An original Utility Bill for the party being added at the property address is required.
- A copy of photo ID for the new party is required.
- Copy of Marriage Certificate if applicable.
- Solicitors Details dealing with Transfer.
NOTE: Where a party is being added and additional funds are required a full mortgage application must be made also.
You will need the following when removing a party from a mortgage loan:
- A 'Transfer of Equity' form completed by the party remaining on mortgage.
- Up-to-date income statement for the remaining party.
- Two recent payslips/P60 for the remaining party.
- A copy of any Separation Agreement, financial settlement or court order (where applicable).
- Details of the Solicitor dealing with the Transfer.
NOTE: Where a party is being removed and additional funds are being sought a full application must be made by the remaining party also.
